George Vaughan has been one of the leading innovators of technology in venues over the last 10 years.
During this time, he has been responsible for initiating many high-profile projects, including the introduction of contactless technology at Twickenham Stadium – home to England Rugby – ahead of the 2015 Rugby World Cup (RWC15), helping to make it the biggest open-loop card payment acceptance venue anywhere in the world.
Since 2018, George has been Head of Technology at Ascot Racecourse, one of the world’s most prestigious racing venues and the home of Royal Ascot. Over the last 2 years he has overseen the introduction of a new audio upgrade at the venue with Bose, a 4K TV upgrade with Samsung, a full overhaul of the POS system with Kappture, as well as NFC ticketing through a unique partnership with Apple, Google, Vivaticket, Skidata and Pronto.
RIP HERE …is the paper ticket terminally torn?
The presentation will address how the needs of venues and rights holders have changed radically from simple headcounts for Tax and Health and Safety Purposes. The mobile ticket, in its different forms, enables event organisers to harness a number of commercially valuable activities including, pre-and post-show event messaging and in-venue security, up-sell and cross-sell opportunities and a richer understanding of key segment behaviours, in addition to providing an invaluable medium for engendering greater event engagement
The audience will be treated to four real-life case studies drawn from the speakers’ experiences in the field of mobile ticketing
