Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre signs with startup to reinvent the customer experience

One of London’s landmark venues, Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre has signed with startup crowdEngage to reinvent their customer experience with just-in-time messaging, mobile ticketing, and food and drink preorders for their 2019 season.

crowdEngage integrates with ticketing systems to pull in booking and customer data and sends personalised messaging to customers on the day of the performance. Each message contains a link to the customer’s mobile tickets and all the information they need for their visit, accessible with a single tap. There’s nothing to install and no login or signup required.

Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre will also use the mobile tickets page to showcase their food and drinks offering so that customers can submit an order for interval drinks from their phone, skipping the queues at the bar. crowdEngage makes payment seamless with Apple Pay and Google Pay integrations, as well as accepting credit and debit cards.

One of the key advantages of mobile ticketing for Open Air Theatre is that crowdEngage mobile tickets are much faster to scan than traditional tickets, especially for group bookings. Faster scanning means queues are shorter, delivering a better experience for customers.

crowdEngage founder Hugh Topping said, “It’s a real privilege to welcome such an exciting, forward-thinking theatre on board. They’re leaders in the industry when it comes to looking at a visit to the theatre as a joined-up experience from start to finish, so the crowdEngage platform is a perfect fit.”

Established in 1932, Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre celebrates its 87th birthday this year. The theatre’s Commercial Director Andy Locke said, “We’re always looking for ways to enhance the customer experience, so partnering with crowdEngage was a natural choice. Their integration with our existing software means that we can easily bring new technology to our iconic venue.”

crowdEngage was founded in 2017 when the initial idea was put to the test for RADA and Kenneth Branagh’s co-production of Hamlet starring Tom Hiddleston. After validating the concept, crowdEngage spent 2018 re-engineering the platform to support future growth and undergoing beta trials with a selection of high-profile venues. Now out of beta, crowdEngage continues to add new features and sign clients. For more information, visit www.crowdengage.com.
