Now that TPC2018 a month in the memory, we can now look back and announce the winners of the TPC2018 awards.
We decided it would be a great idea to honour the speakers, the sessions and our supporters by asking delegates to vote on their favourite educational elements, the best give aways, best engagement and of course crown a best overall speaker!
So with ado – here are the results from the 169 of you who voted.
Category : Best Dressed Stand
Winner : SeatGeek Enterprise
Once again SeatGeek Enterprise had not only the largest, but also according to YOUR votes the smartest and most stylish exhibition floor presence. Rumour has it that several other vendors are looking at copying their double fronted stand for #TPC2019!
Category : Best Engagement
Winner : Booking Protect
From the first moment we heard of Booking Protect’s plans for the “Money Grab” we knew it would be a hit. With not only the chance to make the leaderboard but also snag some Amazon vouchers, the vortex was loved by almost all. Chief Moderator Jamie Snelgrove seen here in action!
Category : Best Giveaway
Winner : Spektrix
TPC2018 saw us try and reduce our waste and footprint even further. We were delighted to see Spektrix also being green – in more ways than one, with their great give-away of re-usable coffee cups. These have already been spotted in far off reaches such as Washington DC, Melbourne and Leicester(!)
Category : Oooh…. Not a ticketing system!
Winner : Make it Social
In the closest, yet most diverse category it was Eddie Robb’s team from Make-it-Social that were judged to have the most interesting (not a ticketing system) product or service on the exhibition floor. With a host of recent big name wins, it was great to welcome Eddie and the team as first time exhibitors, we hope to see them back at #TPC2019
Category : Best Thursday Session (Single Speaker)
Winner : Debbie Richards – Pricing 101, an introduction to pricing
Baker Richards have been supporters and contributors to Ticketing Professionals since we started back in 2015. This year we welcomed Debbie Richards as a first time speaker, and she was a huge hit, both with those new to the industry and those looking to brush up on their pricing skills.
Category : Best Thursday Panel
Winner : Gary Roden, Keith Kenny, Paul Oxley – How Hamilton beat the ticket touts.
Hamilton is a hot ticket wherever it goes, and this includes Ticketing Professionals. The panel of Gary Roden from Ticketmaster, along with Keith Kenny and Paul Oxley delivered an outstanding session that was very well attended. Joining the panel in the photo is Kate Mroczkowski, the session moderator and member of the TPC education steering group.
Category : Best Friday Session (Single Speaker)
Winner : Jake Grimley – Re-imagining the mobile first experience
Mobile was once again a buzz word at TPC – user experience, payment and engagement all featured in a number of sessions. Local boy Jake nailed his session, in one of the toughest slots of the conference – first thing Friday – to deliver a rallying call for us all to get better on mobile.
Category : Best Friday Panel
Winner: Lyndsey Jackson, Linda Forlini & Daniel Saunders – The Future of Customer Service
In one of the closest fought categories, Lyndsey Jackson’s led session may have failed to order a pizza, but it pipped the Donations and Upsell workshop to best Friday Panel. The look into the future along with seizing those opportunities is what TPC is all about – congratulations to the team, shown with their moderator Jamie Snelgrove on the right.
Category : Best Overal Speaker
Winner: Rob Williams – Failure is NOT and option
On the day before leaving on his honeymoon Rob Williams delivered an amazing end to TPC2018 – with his session on failures, hype cycles and the need to experiment. As is the measure with all ‘good’ sessions, even the oldest and most experienced of attendees were seen holding up phones to take screen shots of his funny and insightful presentation. Congratulations Rob!
Most of the trophies are on their way to winners at this moment, with some being presented in person next week. We will upload photos as we get them.
Once again thanks to all our exhibitors and speakers for making TPC the best Ticketing Professionals yet.
